Takeoff’s Career

In 1994, Kirsnik Khari Ball, often known as Takeoff, was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He started rapping in 2008 alongside Offset, his cousin, and Quavo (Quavious Keyate Marshall) (Kiari Kendrell Cephus).

The group, who was once known as Polo Club, changed its name to Migos and issued their debut mixtape, “Juug Season,” in 2011.

Their breakthrough single, “Versace,” catapulted them to fame in 2013 and received a Drake remix. Since then, Migos have amassed over 20 RIAA-certified platinum and gold songs and albums, including their Hot 100 No. 1 smash “Bad and Boujee,” making them one of the most popular rap groups of all time as well as one of the most successful hip-hop bands in recent years.

Their distinctive sound—short, staccato lyrics from one followed by a phrase or verbal sound effect from the other two—has frequently been mimicked. Stir Fry, MotorSport with Cardi B, and “Walk It Talk It” with Drake are some of Migos’ previous Top 10 hits.

Although there was no formal announcement of the group’s breakup, Offset has been working independently while Takeoff and Quavo had been collaborating as a duet in recent years. The duo’s collaboration album, “Built for Infinity Links,” was published last month.

The Last Rocket, the sole solo album released by Takeoff in 2018, opened at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
