A student from Cabell Midland High School passed away on Thursday after being hit by a car on the highway.
Sheriff Chuck Zerkle of Cabell County said the youngster got into a fight at the high school, and his dad arrived to sign him out and pick him up. The boy leaped out of the parent’s car as they were leaving the school grounds, raced across it, crossed the freeway, and was hit by a Jeep.
Many folks are going through a difficult period, according to Milton Police Department Lt. Kyle O’Dell. Other for a few minor injuries, everyone was in good health.

According to dispatchers, one individual was rushed to the hospital after allegedly being hit by a car on Thursday in Cabell County.
According to Cabell County dispatchers, the incident was reported shortly after 2 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 between Barboursville and Milton. The driver of the incidental car stayed on the scene.
Traffic in the vicinity has been severely backed up as a result of the incident. Drivers should exercise caution or, if feasible, avoid the area.
