According to police sources speaking to FOX61 on Friday, a security guard was wounded during a purported armed robbery at Manchester’s Buckland Hills Mall.
The incident occurred on Friday in the late afternoon, and the wounded man was transferred to Hartford Hospital. Currently, nothing is known about their condition.

At the Manchester Buckland Hills Mall, a security guy was shot in the leg.
Police told Channel 3 that it occurred on Friday and involved a shoplifting incident.
Cause of the wound of security officer
Hearst Connecticut Media Group has been informed by police sources that The Shoppes at Buckland Hills has been put under lockdown following the shooting of a loss prevention officer on Friday.
A person familiar with the investigation claims that the loss prevention officer was shot while attempting to thwart a theft.
There were no quick updates on the incident’s specifics. The administration of the mall claimed not to be informed of the situation.

K9 teams were seen investigating the woods behind the mall alongside several police cars parked outside the Macy’s entrance.
As police conduct their investigation, the mall is closed. Police from Vernon, South Windsor, and Connecticut state police are offering assistance.
On Pavilion Drive, people are being barred from entering the mall.
There have been no further reported injuries as of yet.

More than 120 shops and restaurants may be found in The Shoppes at Buckland Hills. It is close to Interstates 84 and 291 in location.
On Friday afternoon, a police car blocked the entrance to the mall close to BJ’s and the LongHorn steakhouse. At the scene, the police and mall security did not disclose any details regarding the event.
While troopers were sent to the area, according to state police, they did not help Manchester police with their investigation.
Two and a half miles north of Manchester’s centre, off Buckland Hills Drive, is where you’ll find the mall.
