After ruling out any forced entry or defence wounds that could suggest someone had murdered Muscat on Wednesday, the sources told MaltaToday yesterday that complete toxicology testing are still ongoing.
In a statement made yesterday, Muscat’s brother Luke put an end to rumours that his brother, a prosecutor in well-known money-laundering cases, had been slain. The 43-year-death old’s was determined by an autopsy to have been caused by heart failure.
Muscat “had no evidence of violence on it or any other symptoms of injury, which could suggest that he defended himself from any aggression,” according to the police.

The brother of prosecutor Karl Muscat has recounted finding him dead, face up by the side of his bed, but does not believe he was killed.
“I know what the people are saying… the conspiracy theories. I don’t believe this,” Luke Muscat said on Friday.
He got a message from a woman he didn’t know on Facebook messenger on Wednesday morning. It was discovered that she had been seeing Karl.

He had gone to check on his older brother out of concern on Wednesday and discovered his lifeless body at his Swieqi apartment.

But his brother doesn’t believe the rumours.
