A guy has been detained after police said he used a machete to cut three individuals during an altercation at a sports goods store on Long Island.
Man Attacks Three With A Machete In A LI Sports Store
After using a machete to attack three persons at a DICK’s Sporting Goods store on Long Island, a guy was detained and charged, according to the police.
The incident happened inside the Patchogue shop on Sunrise Highway about 3:15 on Friday, according to Suffolk County Police.
On Friday, August 12, about 3:15 pm, the event took place in Patchogue.
The man asked about buying rifles at DICK’S Sporting Goods, which is located at 499-64 Sunrise Highway, and that’s when the incident started, according to Suffolk County Police.

Treyvius Tunstall, the suspect, showed identification to the person who was aiding him before pulling it back and leaving the counter, according to the police.
The uninvolved employee who was attacked by Tunstall while he was brandishing a machete sustained severe lacerations, according to authorities. Tunstall then fled to another area of the store.
Tourniquets were applied by an EMS worker and a Suffolk County PD Fifth Precinct police officer before the victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police said that after Tunstall fled the store, he used the machete to hit a customer and then another uninvolved guy in the parking lot.
According to authorities, those victims received minor injuries treatment on the site.
