After undergoing emergency surgery for a brain injury sustained when falling off a bunk bed in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, a Little League World Series player Easton Oliverson is now in a medically induced coma.
According to Easton Oliverson’s uncle Spencer Beck, the Snow Canyon team member from Santa Clara, Utah, went off a top bed on Sunday night and broke his skull. According to Fox 13 in Salt Lake City, the 12-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital before being transported to a children’s hospital in Danville for surgery.

After falling off the top bunk of a bed early on Monday morning, a 12-year-old kid from Utah who will represent his team in the Little League World Series required emergency surgery for a severe head injury.
Easton Oliverson, a pitcher, and outfielder for the Snow Canyon team from Santa Clara, Utah, collapsed in a dorm in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and sustained a brain injury. He was subsequently flown to a pediatric hospital in the state, where he is now receiving intensive care.
What exactly happened with Easton Oliverson?
Oliverson plummeted six feet to the floor and broke his cheekbone and skull, according to his father, Jace Oliverson, who spoke to KSL.
He was put into a medically induced coma, according to his uncle Spencer Beck, but the family is hopeful that he will recover.
The statement by the family member
“Last night, my young nephew Easton slipped off the bunkbed while in Williamsport, where he was living the dream and experiencing the chance of a lifetime. He was airlifted in a life raft to a pediatric hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania “via Imlay, a family member posted something on social media.
“His surgery was successful, and his brain is healing properly. Please remember our family and my young friend Easton in your prayers. We adore you.”
Oliverson remains in the ICU, according to Beck, as medical professionals wait for his brain swelling to go down, according to the newspaper. Oliverson also sustained fractures to his cheekbone and head, according to his relatives.
One of Beck’s teammates was alerted by his nephew’s fall, according to the newspaper interview Beck gave.
“That other guy may not have made it,” Beck told the newspaper. “Had he not been awakened by him falling.”
