On Friday, a fire broke out at a facility for petroleum supertankers in Cuba, sending thick clouds of smoke into the air. According to a Facebook post by the Provincial Government of Popular Power in Matanzas, a lightning strike started a fire in one of the crude oil tanks at the base in an industrial area of Matanzas.

The large fire breaks out as Cuba’s energy crisis, caused on by a lack of gasoline, worsens.
“No human losses, injuries, or gasoline spills into the sea were recorded following the incident,” the Cuban Ministry of Energy and Mines tweeted.
