Who was Keith Farmer?

Northern Irish motorbike racer Keith Farmer is also known as The Clogher Bullet. He was a member of the Farmer racing family and was born on February 2, 1987, in Clogher, Northern Ireland. Three British titles have been his. BSB National Superstock 1000 (2012), BSB National Superstock 600 (2011), and Dickies British Supersport Championship (2017)

Keith Farmer graduated from Center School in 1952. He has an honourable discharge record and served in the US Air Force for the entire four-year term from 1954 to 1958.

Keith Farmer career

After a challenging Silverstone weekend, Keith Farmer made the decision to join the PR Racing team and race the iForce Lloyd and Jones BMW in the British Superbike class.

Farmer disclosed that he had originally intended to leave competing at the end of the current season, but he changed his mind following two accidents at Silverstone.

Unbeatable championship records

In 2011, the 34-year-old won the Superstock 600 as well as the Superstock 1000. Farmer then demonstrated his adaptability by winning the 2017 British Supersport Championship and the 2018 Northern Ireland TAS Racing Team Superstock 1000 Championship.

Farmer, who represented some of the best teams in the paddock, reflected on his career and was appreciative of his four British titles. I’ve been in the BSB paddock for ten years, competing for some of the top teams, and I’ve had a tonne of opportunities, some of which have resulted in success. Keith moved to Branson in 1965 to pursue a career in the area’s music industry.

He was always willing to offer assistance to anyone in need. He was an excellent parent who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and who took tremendous satisfaction in his offspring’s accomplishments.

When Keith made the decision to alter his life, he packed up everything he owned and relocated from Branson to Lake Tapawingo.

About five years have passed since this update. Keith’s parents, sister Madge Owen, and wife of 14 years, Beverly Joan Farmer, had all relocated out of state the day before he passed away. In addition, Beverly Joan was his wife for the whole of his life. I ask for peace for his soul.

Retirement from competitive driving

Four-time Supersport and Superstock winner Keith Farmer has announced his immediate retirement from competitive driving.

Due to the failure of his former Superstock squad, the County Tyrone rider had a challenging year. He had intended to finish the season with the iForce Lloyd and Jones BMW squad, but he made the decision to retire after a series of accidents at Silverstone over the weekend.

At the end of the 2021 season, the 34-year-old has always intended to stop his playing career. After ten productive years, he retires from the sport, having thrived on the asphalt just as he had in Supermoto before.

Keith’s struggle

I’ve had a bad year, but that’s just racing, said Farmer.

I joined PR Racing BMW to finish the season, but after two very serious collisions—the first of which, I’m sad to say, resulted in Takumi Takahashi’s passing and the second of which saw me shatter to pieces—I’ve decided it’s time to step aside.

I’ve always planned to stop racing after this year, even though it’s never easy to get up and leave. Owner of the BSB squad Paul Bird was impressed with the “Clogher Bullet” after his team and he won the Superstock 600 title in 2011. The following year, in 2012, Bird extended his support for Farmer’s move to the Superstock 1000 division.

Farmer was able to return the trust placed in him and further showcase his talent by defeating Jason O’Halloran’s official Honda entry by a decisive 50 points after five victories on the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki.

The two parted ways two-thirds of the way through the season after Farmer was promoted to Bird’s BSB team in 2013. Noriyuki Haga took Farmer’s place. They split up despite exhibiting some glimpses of form—fourth at Knockhill being the best.

He switched teams for 2014, and although having mixed performances, it was this year that he finished third at Brands Hatch, behind Josh Waters and Richard Cooper, to claim his lone BSB podium.

Farmer shown his versatility after winning the British Supersport Championship in 2017 by filling in for the injured Luke Jones at Appleyard Macadam Yamaha.

He earned a spot with the Northern Irish TAS Racing team in 2018 after finishing the season with nine victories. Farmer returned to the Superstock 1000 series and drove a BMW S1000RR to victory, earning him the division’s second championship.

He continued to work with the team in 2019 and returned to the BSB series, but after earning six top-ten finishes in the opening four races, he crashed in Knockhill qualifying and broke both of his legs, which cruelly ended his campaign.

Farmer suited up with Buildbase Suzuki for the delayed 2020 season after getting back in shape, but he suffered another setback when he wrecked during qualifying for the opening race at Donington Park, seriously jeopardising his season.

Farmer, who is now based in Penrith, thought back on his trophy-filled career and expressed his happiness at having won four British titles despite playing for some of the top teams in the paddock. “I’ve had a great 10 years racing in the BSB paddock, representing some of the best teams with great possibilities; some of them worked, some of them didn’t.

I feel tremendously lucky to have been given these opportunities, and I have taken use of them to win four British crowns.

“I want to thank everyone who has ever helped me in any way, especially my family who has been there for me in both good and bad times. I could not have finished this without any one of you.
