A global skiing champion was killed in a skiing accident in the French Alps. Adèle Milloz, 26, a trip guide trainee, died immediately before 6.15 p.m. on Friday, August 12, according to mountain guides.
The world champion was joined by an unidentified female acquaintance, 30, who was also killed in the tragedy. The two were traveling from Aiguille de Peigne (3,192m) to neighboring peak Aiguille du Midi (3,842m) at 10,000 feet above sea level when the horrible catastrophe occurred.

Adele Milloz was training to be a mountain guide when she died while ascending a mountain in France’s Mont Blanc range.
The 26-year-old won multiple international, European, and national titles before retiring in 2019 to pursue a career as a guide.
Another woman, 30, died while climbing with her as part of her training regimen.
The women are thought to have been tied together when they fell while attempting to reach the summit of Aiguille du Midi.
So far, the cause of the fall has not been determined, and authorities have allegedly launched an inquiry.
Who was Adele Milloz?
Adele Milloz is a French ski mountaineer who was born on May 5, 1996, and died on August 12, 2022. She won two gold medals in ski mountaineering, sprint, and individual at the 2017 Military World Winter Games.
She won the sprint gold medal at the 2018 European Championships in Nicolosi.
She retired from contests in 2019 to pursue her education to become a mountain guide.
What exactly happened?
Adele Milloz is a 26-year-old woman. She died with another lady in the ascent of the standard route of Peigne, in the Mont-Blanc massif, while studying at the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering (ENSA) in Chamonix to become a high mountain guide.
The victims’ bodies “were discovered on one face of the needle by witnesses who were also hiking the top and passed the alarm,” according to the high mountain gendarmerie unit. The final internship for Adèle Milloz’s diploma validation was scheduled to commence on Monday, August 15.

After the roped party issued the alert, it was evacuated by a civil security helicopter. “The cause of the fall is unknown.” “There was no landslide a priori,” stated the PGHM.
A gendarmerie source told AFP that an investigation is underway to determine the causes of the accident, which was confirmed by a statement issued by the French Mountain and Climbing Federation. “His smile and good humor will be missed forever,” says the latter.

“We will always miss her smile,” the French Mountain and Climbing Federation added.
The French minister for sports and the Olympics, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, paid tribute to Ms Milloz via Twitter.
“Deeply saddened by the death of ski mountaineering champion Adèle Milloz at the age of 26 in Mont Blanc, and of the woman who was by her side,” she said.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to her family, loved ones, and colleagues at the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering in Chamonix.”
Montagne Escalade’s smile and good humour will be missed, according to the Federation Francaise Montagne Escalade.
