Who was Patrick Torrey?
Basketball player Patrick Torrey was born in Pekin. He stands six feet eight inches tall (2m03 or 6-8). His most recent NCAA team as a centre was Saint Ambrose Fighting Bees.
Patrick played on Pekin’s amazing regional championship team in 2019 while he was in his senior year of college at St. Ambrose University.
Patrick was always someone who made going to the gym something to look forward to, and I had the pleasure of coaching him at PCHS. He always knew how to make us laugh and had a smile that could light up any room.
