At the age of 76, Ostap Savka, the illustrious captain of the Lviv Carpathians in the 1970s, passed away.
This information was provided by the Lviv Football Association’s press office.
The Lions received seven years of the career of the Ukrainian midfielder. The official website of the Lviv Carpathians broke the sad news of the departure to the world on August 11.
Ostap Savka career
Ostap Savka permanently changed the course of the Lviv club’s history. The midfielder continues to be the first Premier League player to record a hat trick against Lokomotiv Moscow.

- From 1969 to 1977, the football player represented Lviv “Karpaty.” Additionally, he played for the Drogobitsk teams Naftovyk and Shakhtar, the Lviv teams Sokil and Kolos, the Kherson teams Crystal and Khimik, and the Kernytsia team Zorya.
- He worked as a coach after his playing career was over.
- Savka, a midfielder, played for Lviv for nine seasons, served as the team’s captain, and took part in the group’s first European campaign. He has 16 goals in 194 games.
