Olivia Newton-John, a singer and actor who appeared in the movie “Grease” and had a number of popular songs throughout her career, passed away on Monday at the age of 73, according to her official Facebook page.

According to her husband, Olivia Newton-John passed away at the age of 73 on Monday morning at her California home.
The four Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, actor, businesswoman, and activist has had 10 top ten and five number one hits. In the 1970s, she also had two number-one records.
She was an advocate for the environment and animal rights and is best known for playing Sandy Olsson in “Grease.”
The actress from Grease was 73.
She “went away quietly at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends,” according to a message on her official Facebook page by her husband, John Easterling.
In this extremely trying time, “we ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy,” he added.

They met while filming “Xanadu,” and Olivia, who was British but was raised in Australia, wed Matt Lattanzi in 1984. In 1986, they gave birth to Chloe Rose. They split up in 1995.
