Who Was Conroy?
From 1992 to 1996, Conroy voiced the lead character in the beloved Batman: The Animated Series, and he proceeded to play the character in approximately 60 different productions, including 15 movies, 400 episodes of television, and video games. He has become a regular on the comic con circuit in recent years.
Andrea Romano, who had the pleasure of casting and directing Kevin, said of him, “Kevin was far more than an actor whom I had the pleasure of casting and directing – he was a good friend for 30+ years whose compassion and generous nature knew no boundaries.” “I will always remember Kevin’s kind heart, beautifully deep laugh, and genuine love of life.”
Conroy’s on-screen adversary The Joker, played by Mark Hamill, paid tribute to Conroy in a statement.
Kevin was ideal, according to Hamill. He was one of my all-time favourite persons, and I cherished him as a sibling. His genuine concern for those around him was evident in everything he did. My spirits were raised each time I saw or chatted with him.
Conroy was raised in Westport, Connecticut, and was born on November 30, 1955, in Westbury, New York. He shared a room with Robin Williams while attending Julliard, where he studied acting among notable actors like Christopher Reeve. He continued to pursue theatre work before securing appearances in the 1980s on TV shows like Dynasty, Tour of Duty, and Ohara. Additionally, he made cameo appearances on Cheers, Murphy Brown, Spenser: For Hire, Matlock, Search for Tomorrow, Another World, and Spenser: For Hire.
When Batman: The Animated Series debuted on September 5, 1992, the course of his life and career were permanently altered.
What Did Kevin Conroy Say?
Conroy told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017: “I remember Mark and I were at the WB sound studio to complete ADR work and we got to witness the opening titles.” “We hear the opening tune, complete with beautiful colours and violins. It had a huge impact. And I asked Mark, “Did you have any idea this is what we were doing?” as I turned to face him. No, he exclaimed, “I’m blown away!” Both of us thought we were a part of something truly unique.
Voice Of Batman
The Batman director Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams joined forces with Bruce Timm from Batman: The Animated Series to create a new version of the series titled The Caped Crusader, though it is unknown if Conroy was to be involved. The series continued to be popular 30 years later.
Conroy was best recognised for his work in animation, but in 2019 he transitioned into the live-action DC universe to play Bruce Wayne in the CW’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover tale. In the computer game MultiVersus, he most recently provided the voice of Batman.
Several actors have lent their voices to Batman over the years, with Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck receiving praise and ridicule in particular for their live-action interpretations. Finding the right voice for Conroy was both a problem and a decision.

He will be sorely missed not just by the cast of the series but by his legion of fans all over the world. Below are pictures of Kevin with Loren Lester who plays Robin another with me and and Tara Strong who is in the later episodes of Batman cartoons. And then finally, one of Kevin and me in front of the huge audiences we used to get when we did our panels. RIP, friend.😢
