According to the State Highway Patrol, a student from Kent State University was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Franklin Township while he was riding a scooter.
According to the highway patrol, Colin Vinh Pho, 22, of Kent, lost his life in the collision that happened Monday night around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Summit Street and Ohio 261.
According to the highway patrol, Pho was riding an electric scooter eastbound on Summit Street when he was hit from behind by a car.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Ravenna Post is looking into a deadly accident.
Between Monday night, a hit-skip accident involving a Kent State student happened on County Road 148 and State Route 261 in Franklin Township.
According to OSHP, Kent, Ohio resident Colin Vinh Pho, 22, was heading east on County Road on an electric scooter at at 9:3O p.m.
148 when he was hit from behind by an another car that was also heading east.
The unidentified car left the area and headed east on CR 148.
Vinh Pho was sent to University Hospital Portage after suffering fatal injuries.
The Kent Fire Department’s medical centre. He was then flown to University in a life raft.
He was later declared deceased at Cleveland Clinic Hospital Main Campus.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, it took place in Franklin Township on Summit Rd. at State Route 261.
The student, according to OSHP, was struck from behind by another vehicle while he was riding an electric scooter eastbound on Summit Rd. Driver departed the scene.
22-year-old Colin Vinh Pho, the student, passed away there.
Who was Colin Vinh Pho?
Pho’s passing has left the Kent State University community “deeply heartbroken,” the university said in a statement.
According to the university, Pho was a junior computer science student with a focus in game programming. After graduating from Kent State with an associate of science in May, he enrolled in autumn classes to continue his education and earn a bachelor’s degree.
The university issued a statement saying, “The Kent State community sends its thoughts and prayers to Colin’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.”

“We are extremely grieved to hear of Colin Pho’s passing. Colin, an Ashtabula native, was a junior at Kent State University who was concentrating in game programming while majoring in computer science.
He graduated with an Associate of Science from Kent State in May 2022 and enrolled in studies for the following fall to go on a Bachelor of Science. The Kent State community offers its condolences and prayers to Colin’s loved ones and to his family.
Suspect vehicle which hit Colin Vinh Pho
According to OSHP, the suspect car could be a 2006–2010 Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, or Chrysler 300 in white, silver, or a light-colored paint job. The driver’s side mirror is probably missing, and the left front section of the car is probably damaged. The windshield probably also has some damage.

Pho was treated at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center before being flown to University Hospitals Main Campus in Cleveland by Kent firefighters. Highway patrol said that he was later declared deceased.
The crash is still being investigated, and no one has been taken into custody.
