How did Keith Levene die? Guitar genius cause of death Explained.

Keith Levene, a guitarist for Public Image Ltd. and The Clash, passed away at age 65. Let’s see how did he die? What happened? And what was Keith Levene cause of death.

How did Keith Levene die?

We are saddened to learn of the passing of the talented Keith Levene, one of music’s most outstanding guitarists. His work with Public Image continues to defy logic.

Over the years, I got to know him well. He made a few appearances with the Membranes as a guest, including this one in Norwich, where his guitar playing was as beautiful as ever.

Adam Hammond, a writer and author, broke the news by saying that Levene passed away on Friday.

Keith Levene, the legendary guitarist for Public Image Limited, passed away on Friday, November 11, according to a statement from Hammond.

Hammond tribute to Levene

Keith was without a doubt one of the greatest guitarists of all time in terms of innovation, audacity, and influence.

“Keith sought to establish a new paradigm in music and, with the help of collaborators John Lydon and Jah Wobble, succeeded in doing just that,” the obituary continued. The first song on the first PiL album, “Theme,” which lasts nine minutes, was defined by his guitar work as the ideal of alternative music.

In addition to working with Mick Jones to create The Clash, where he had a significant impact on the band’s early sound, Keith also contributed to making PiL the most significant band of the time. The work of Keith is heavily credited in so much of what we hear today, while most of it is not.

“Our love and thoughts are with his companion Kate, sister Jill, and all of Keith’s family and friends,” Hammond ended. The absence of his intellect makes the world a darker place. Without my partner, mine will be darker.

Who was Keith Levene?

Levene began working as a roadie for Yes at the age of 15 before he went on to found the groundbreaking band in 1978. A few years later, he played a critical role in persuading Joe Strummer to leave the 101’ers and form The Clash with him.

Levene, however, quit the group before they could make any recordings. He founded The Flowers of Romance as well.

Levene and Mick Jones founded The Clash in 1976 after roadies for Yes in the early 1970s. Joe Strummer was famously convinced to leave his band at the time, The 101ers, and join the group.

After the breakup of the Sex Pistols, Levene left The Clash before they started recording music and went on to found Public Image Ltd with John Lydon.

Levene tried his hand at solo material, production, and other things after leaving PiL in 1983.

Levene investment in Bitcoin

Levene and Wobble performed as Metal Box in Dub in a number of locations in England, Wales, and Germany in the early months of 2012 after several scheduled performances in Japan were postponed due to visa complications. Following that, a four-song EP called Yin & Yang was released.

Levene travelled to Prague in the spring of 2014 to record Commercial Zone 2014, an album supported by the Indiegogo crowdsourcing campaign fundraising platform.

Later on, he made significant investments in bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. On November 11, 2022, Levene passed away at the age of 65.

Tribute to Keith Levene

Paul Trynka said,

Ahhhh… so sad. I think I saw him play at a bill you shared, Leeds Sci Fi festival in 1979, his guitar playing was great, really good spiky guitar sound. I remember really liking Anna Lisa (which is very Stooges-esque). It was a great show – there were many such that weekend, real diversity of bands, with iirc Nik Turner and Hawkwing there to.

On the same bill I recall the Only Ones completed their entire set in around 9 minutes due i suspect to pharmacological reasons.

Kenny Logue said,
