Jim Ellis Automotive Group’s president and CEO, James “Jimmy” Edward Ellis of Suwanee, passed away at the age of 67.
Jim Ellis Cause of Death
Ellis passed away on November 5 at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital surrounded by his loved ones, according to his obituary.

Funeral
At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, funeral services will be held at Johns Creek Baptist Church. under the direction of Dr. Shaun King. At Peachtree Memorial Park in Peachtree Corners, burial will take place after.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his honour to the Scottish Rite Hospital’s Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center – Medical Office Building.
The Peachtree Corners-based Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of organising services and burial arrangements.
Jim’s Life
Early in the 1970s, his father and namesake founded the Jim Ellis Automotive Group. After graduating from Southwest DeKalb High School, the younger Ellis began working at his father’s auto company, where he moved vehicles, swept the floors, and did some minor mechanical work.
At the age of 28, he was appointed general manager of a Tucker Porsche-Audi dealership that had just been purchased. From that point on, he developed and rose through the ranks of the company until the early 1990s, when the senior Ellis invited his son to assume the operating officer position.
Jim’s Career
The younger Ellis was appointed president and CEO of Jim Ellis Automotive Group in 2015.
The family firm would develop over the next nearly two decades to become what it is today with 20 dealerships representing 17 manufacturers and a collision centre.
Ellis was quite active in the neighbourhood. He was actively involved in various chambers of commerce and served as chairman of the Chamblee Doraville Community Improvement District in DeKalb County.

He loved to go boating, fish, play golf, exercise, and drive fast vehicles.
His Family
He is survived by his children and grandkids in addition to his wife of 48 years, Glynnell Ellis.
