German Vitke, a poet, passed away at the age of 53. He went on to write numerous singles that Russian pop singers performed. On the social network VKontakte, singer Irina Dyukova made the announcement of his passing.

Relatives claim that Vitke’s death was caused by a heart attack. He was in the hospital toward the end of winter and this spring, the channel’s sources claimed. For less than a month, he did not live to see his 54th birthday.

Who was German Vitke?
On September 7, 1968, Vitke was born in Moscow. The poet entered the Russian entertainment industry in 1989, writing numerous hit songs that were sung by performers like Bogdan Titomir, Laima Vaikule, Philip Kirkorov, Leonid Agutin, Marina Khlebnikova, and others.
Around the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, German Vitke made his debut as a songwriter. He published in the Soviet magazine Yunost, worked as a producer and music critic, and also released a book of poems in France.
