On September 7, 1968, Vitke was born in Moscow. The poet entered the Russian entertainment industry in 1989, writing numerous hit songs that were sung by performers like Bogdan Titomir, Laima Vaikule, Philip Kirkorov, Leonid Agutin, Marina Khlebnikova, and others.
Around the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, German Vitke made his debut as a songwriter. He published in the Soviet magazine Yunost, worked as a producer and music critic, and also released a book of poems in France.
