Daniel Lévi, 60, passed away this past Saturday, August 6. For several years, he had been battling colon cancer. Ce rêve bleu, the theme song from the animated film Aladin, was sung by the singer and Karine Costa in a duet in 1993.
Prior to the consecration, in 2000, he received recognition for his performance as Moses in the musical The Ten Commandments. This song was composed by Elie Chouraqui and Pascal Obispo, and he famously performed the line, “The yearning to love.”
Numerous musicians paid tribute to Daniel Lévi on social media following his disappearance. “A man, a voice, our brother has left us… I looked for the right words, but I couldn’t find any. It was big, it was good, and it was us, Pascal Obispo said on Instagram, referencing other members of the Ten Commandments ensemble.

Daniel Levi was a Constantine, Algerian native who was born on August 26, 1961. He is most recognised for his work as an actor and director on the musical The Ten Commandments from 2000 and Warp Vision: The Videos from 2004. From 1989 through 2004 and Hey Good Looking!
Sandrine Aboukrat, Levi’s wife, posted a monochromatic photo of the late singer on Instagram on Saturday along with information about his funeral.

Levi took part in his debut musical production, Sand and the Romantics, which was created by Catherine Lara and Luc Plamondon, in 1991. He performed there as both Frédéric Chopin and Alfred de Musset.

For Disney’s animated series Aladdin, Levi recorded the song Ce rêve bleu two years later, in 1993. With this song, a duet with Karine Costa, he became well-known.

He starred in the Pascal Obispo and Élie Chouraqui-written musical comedy The Ten Commandments in 2000. He starred in it as Mose and received plaudits for the show’s signature song, The Desire to Love.
The musical was a success at the Palais des Sports for several weeks, and the record went on to sell 1.3 million copies, according to Universal Music France.

Following his time with The Ten Commandments, Levi pursued a solo career while writing songs that blended soul, jazz, and French variety. He recorded six solo albums in total before his passing.
In 2019, he made the public aware of his colon cancer.

The youngest of seven kids, Daniel Levi was. He started his music career in the 1980s and released his first album Cocktail in 1983, which wasn’t exactly a hit. He had previously spent ten years of his life learning the piano.
Later, Levi worked with a number of musical icons, including Michel Legrand, who offered him the chance to record songs for the 1985 Jacques Demy film Parking, and Gloria Gaynor, who invited him on the first leg of her European tour.

Other musicians who had collaborated with him on The Ten Commandments also left heartfelt comments. similar to Ahmed Mouici, who expressed his “upset” about this passing. He sang the duet for the musical’s other main song, My Brother, with Daniel Levi, who portrayed the role of Ramses. He had said, “Tonight I lose a friend who has become a brother; the passing of Daniel Levi pains me. […] We were much more than a couple, Daniel and I! Years of sharing, love, and laughter are what give a friendship like ours its tenacity and authenticity. […] Peace be with you; I already miss you.
Rephael Levi, Abel Levi, and Rivka Levi, the three children he had with his second wife Sandrine Aboukrat, survive Daniel.
