Young Slo-Be, a rapper from Stockton, California, passed away, his project manager at Thizzler on the Roof confirmed to Pitchfork. Slo-Be was killed on Friday morning after being involved in a shooting in Manteca, California, according to CBS News (August 5). The project manager for Slo-Be told Pitchfork, “Our entire team mourns him and is shaken to think about the loss of his immense potential to this horrible act of violence.” Slo-Be was just 29 years old.
In a statement shared on the company’s social media pages, Thizzler on the Roof said that it had been an honour to work with Slo-Be over the past couple of years. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, and our hearts are sad.

CBS News states On Friday, a gunman shot and killed Slo-Be in Manteca, California. When the police came, they discovered a shooting victim who had died as a result of his injuries. In a lengthy statement regarding Slo-untimely Be’s passing, Thizzler On The Roof reportedly said, “We are devastated to confirm that Young Slo-Be was slain this morning in Manteca, CA. Since the beginning of our collaboration with Slo-Be in 2020, we have known that his dedication to his craft and strong work ethic will propel him to great heights. He achieved the most widespread success with his TikTok-famous song “I Love You,” but he also leaves behind a robust discography that includes many albums and a cult fanbase that has stuck with him for years.

Young Slo-Be is pictured visiting a Stockton store that sold his hoodies and t-shirts in what would turn out to be his final Instagram post. The store’s proprietor told KCRA 3 that on Friday morning, customers lined up outside to buy Young Slo-Be items.
One supporter, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed his appreciation for the rapper’s songs on Stockton.
The supporter recalled, “He rapped about the streets, essentially like, how it is… growing up here, like, the hardship.”
Those who knew him say that young Slo-Be was a fan favourite in the area.

“To the entire community, he was incredibly humble. That’s why so many people favoured him,” the music enthusiast claimed. He was well-liked by many since he never pretended to be superior to others.
Young Slo Be would be missed in the Stockton community, according to Lawren Edwards, who described himself as the artist’s cousin.

Young Slo-Be, who performed alongside groups like EBK Young Joc, BounceBackMeek, EBK JaayBo, and the EBK Hotboiiz crew, was a well-known figure in the Stockton rap scene. “EBK JaayBo and Young Slo-Be made the California city of Stockton’s rap scene a must-follow,” Pitchfork’s Alphonse Pierre said in a recent post.
Slo-Be frequently made references to his Nightingale Avenue neighbourhood in his poems, and the cover of his most recent album Southeast featured a Nightingale street sign. His song “I Love You,” which prominently features a sample of Mariah Carey’s “Circles,” rose to fame on TikTok and has since been used in more than 19,000 videos there. Slo-Slo-Be Be’s Bryant 3 album, released in August 2021, also had the Drakeo the Ruler collaboration “Unforgivable,” as well as “I Love You.”
