Arnold turned to acting in spite of his parents’ desires. After my candidacy, I began working as a director-announcer-presenter at the NIR (the forerunner of the VRT), he said, “but I then moved to study Romance philology.” Meanwhile, I graduated from the conservatory with a degree in acting.
He first earned some notoriety in the juvenile serial “De Kat” in the 1970s, and then he made an appearance in the police drama “Langs De Kade”. But he will always be remembered by many as Georges Coppens from “Wittekerke.” He shared a total of 1,067 episodes with Greet Rouffaer and Marc Coessens. He co-directed Brandewijnblues and De reet van Jan Kleyn alongside Paljas, among others. He has had guest parts with other theatrical companies like the KVS and theater Malpertuisan Arena in addition to acting with the NTG, among others.
He provided part-time art instruction at the Mortsel Music Academy from 1969 through 1992.
