In Ballycastle, County Antrim, a van hit a 23-year-old man before driving away, causing his death. At the time of the collision on Sunday at 22:20 BST, Coleraine resident Stefan Morrow was strolling beside a female companion down Moyarget Road in the Mosside neighbourhood.
The vehicle did not stop to check on the two injured parties before leaving the site. The event left the woman with non-life-threatening wounds.
After being detained in connection with the incident, a man in his 30s was later freed on bail pending additional investigations. A second individual who was also detained was unconditionally released.

According to police, a man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Ballycastle’s Mosside neighbourhood.
Stefan Morrow, a 23-year-old local of Coleraine, has been identified as him.
On Sunday, August 21, at around 10:20 p.m., the Moyarget Road incident was reported to the PSNI. “A man and a lady were strolling along the road when they collided with a van,” said Detective Sergeant Colhoun.
Without pausing to check on those who were hurt, the van’s driver drove away from the accident scene. “Unfortunately, the male has subsequently died from injuries he incurred in the crash. The woman’s wounds are not life-threatening.
“To date, we have detained two individuals in their 30s, one of whom has been freed without conditions and the other on bail while we continue our investigation.
“At this point, I’d like to issue a fresh call for details and urge any witnesses to contact the police.
We are especially interested in hearing from anyone who was on the Moyarget Road on Sunday, August 21, between 10 p.m. and 10.20 p.m. and may have dash-cam or other cellphone film of the collision that could aid our inquiry.

Following a hit-and-run incident in Co. Antrim, a man has passed away. Last Sunday at at 10.20 p.m., Stefan Morrow, a 23-year-old from Coleraine, passed away from wounds he received in the accident on the Moyarget Road near Ballycastle.
According to the police, on August 21, Mr. Morrow was walking beside the road with a woman when they were involved in an accident with a van. Without pausing to check on those who were hurt, the vehicle was driven away from the accident scene.
