A small plane that was trying to land in a community in Peoria County crashed, killing two persons. It crashed in Hanna City between Main and Second Streets after failing to land and colliding with multiple buildings on the way down.
Two dead after plane crash in Hanna City
Jamie Harwood, the Peoria County coroner, reports that two people have died as a result of a plane crash in Hanna.
According to Harwood, one of the victims perished in the collision, and the other suffered serious injuries before passing away on the site.
This fatal crash occurred on Saturday, according to Illinois State Police.
ISP District 8 troopers reacted to a deadly plane crash at 12:33 p.m., according to ISP’s preliminary crash data.
From North Main Street to Second Street, Route 116 is closed.

What happened exactly?
On a section of Route 116 in Hanna City, a small, single-engine aircraft crashed, killing two persons.
One male and one lady were killed in the plane crash, but their identities are unknown. A Monday autopsy would be finished, according to coroner Jamie Harwood.
In Hanna City, a portion of Route 116 is now blocked off. People could hear the plane sputtering above KP’s Wings and Fries, according to Harwood, and the plane struck many buildings. The aircraft came to a stop in front of Gil’s Supper Club.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, which is looking into the disaster, the plane was a Mooney M20K.

One woman, whose age is now unknown, was declared dead on impact, according to Harwood. First responders had to free a second passenger, a guy whose age is likewise unknown. Despite efforts to revive him, the man lost his pulse and was declared dead.
Cause of this plane crash at Hanna City

Both the identity of the plane’s pilot and the cause of the disaster is unknown. On Monday, an autopsy will be performed on both victims.
