Who Was Tyrone?
Keyboardist and pianist Tyrone Downie hails from Jamaica and is well known for his collaborations with Bob Marley and The Wailers.
He attended Kingston College, was a member of the Impact All Stars before joining The Wailers in the middle of the 1970s. Rastaman Vibration was the band with which he made his music debut.
Other acts he has shared the stage with include The Abyssinians, Beenie Man, Black Uhuru, Buju Banton, Peter Tosh, Junior Reid, Tom Tom Club, Ian Dury, Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, Alpha Blondy, Tiken Jah Fakoly, and Sly & Robbie.
He currently lives in France and performs with Youssou N’Dour, whose album Remember he also produced.
