Did you know about the Bataan bus accident? Filipino capital MANILA The Quezon City branch of the Department of Education (DepEd) reported that a teacher had died and that multiple others had been hurt.

The Bataan Bus Accident

The Department of Education (DepEd)-Quezon City announced on Saturday that a teacher from Quezon City had passed away and numerous others had been hurt in a bus accident on Saturday in Orani, Bataan.

What Happened At The Incident?

The teacher was one of the 141 elementary and high school teachers from the local public schools who went to the Sinagtala Resort. They were about to take part in a gender and development program. Three buses transported them.

On the other hand, a DepEd bus carrying 48 passengers lost its brake at around 11:20 on Saturday while navigating a very sharp curve, causing the bus to plunge into a 15-meter ravine.

What Was Said In The Statement?

According to a statement from the DepEd, “one of the participants, a teacher from Payatas B Elementary School, was declared dead on arrival at the Orani District Hospital due to a fatal injury.”

The Quezon City school division is currently organising the transport of the teacher’s remains.

A relative of the instructor went to the Orani District Hospital so that the body might be released.

While 18 other injured participants were brought to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office for debriefing, three injured teachers were also transported to the Balanga Provincial Hospital, receiving additional care.

What Did The Government Of Quezon City Say?

The DepEd Schools Division Office and the government of Quezon City agreed to cover all medical costs for the injured passengers. Also, they agreed to provide financial support to the surviving family members.

Currently, the bus driver is being detained at the Orani Police Station to be questioned.
