According to officials, the event happened in Tank district’s Gul Iman neighborhood. The attackers targeted a police van that was transporting a door-to-door polio immunization team.

Following this, on August 15, two police officers working as the polio team’s protection in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were shot.

As of September 2022, there had been 17 confirmed cases in Pakistan.
